We’re delighted to welcome Marc Power as the new CEO of First South Credit Union! With an impressive background in finance and a passion for community-focused leadership, Marc is ready to guide our Credit Union as we continue to grow and serve you, our valued members.
Before sharing more about Marc and his vision for the future, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to George Cantwell, who has retired as CEO after more than 36 years of dedicated service. Under George’s leadership, First South Credit Union flourished, enhancing the financial well-being of countless members while staying true to our core values. His wisdom and commitment helped shape who we are today. George, we wish you every happiness in this new chapter of your life. Thank you for everything!
With excitement for the road ahead, we’re confident that Marc will build on George’s incredible legacy. Marc joins us with many years of leadership experience. He has been involved in financial services throughout Cork for many years and looks forward to continuing the ethos of service, trust and care in First South Credit Union. When we asked him to tell us about himself he said “Born and bred in Cork, my parents taught me to respect others and I’ll bring that ethos to our members and staff at First South Credit Union”.
Marc, who has great involvement in his own community through sports and other interests said “It is a privilege for me to be able to serve the members of First South Credit Union, to continue the great work that George has done over his many years at the helm.
Speaking about George’s retirement, Marc saluted his predecessor. “He should be very proud of what he has achieved. He has left the Credit Union with very sound financial foundations and I wish him the very best on his next journey in life”.
